Lesson Outline

  • Intro game “Moving as one”

  • What message is this game trying to send?

  • Following this watch YouTube with Ran Gavrieli 

  • Go through activity with students - Draw a table on the board - what qualities are important when being a man? vs what qualities are important when being a woman?

  • Introduce “Investing the impact of gender norms” page 67 of RRRR FUSO booklet

  • Facilitate activity with students and have a discussion in regards to Gender Norms

  • Ask students to complete worksheet on page 67-69 - Gender Norms

  • Following this activity begin discussion on power and privilege - Page 80

  • Complete Activities with your class on page 80-81

  • Review lesson by checking with students the learning intentions

Learning Outcome

  • What is gender-based violence?

  • What does it mean to be a target/perpetrator/victim/witness?

  • Who is most likely to be targeted?

  • To understand what is meant by consent and how to give consent 

Lesson Outline

  • Intro: Recap what does it mean to be a good human being

  • Positive Gender relations activity; follow instructions for activity in FUSO booklet (Page 86-88)

  • Go around class and ask students to define consent off the top of their head

  • Write definition on the board

  • Play Consent video

  • Brainstorm with class ways to tell what people want i.e. body language, what they say, how they say things, yes/no, yelling, whispering etc

  • Complete the activities on Page 86-88 (instructions in PDF)

  • Follow up activity - Consent and the law activity

  • Extra activity if still time: FUSO Page 88 - Scenarios

Sex Education

Learning Outcome

  • Do I understand Female and male reproduction? 

  • What is gender and sexuality?

Lesson Outline

  • Intro: Recap - Consent 

  • Brainstorm what parts of the reproductive system they know.

  • Play the words game - using whiteboard or butchers paper, listing every word used for the male and female reproductive systems

  • The next phase of this task is asking the students to correctly label both the male and female reproductive systems (Complete in their booklet)

  • Now take students through the process of Menstruation, using the below clip.

  • They now have two tasks to complete - "The Guy Talk" and "The eggs journey"

  • Discuss with them their answers as they move through this activity

  • Complete the Kahoot - Gender and Sexuality

Learning Outcome

  • What are Sexually Transmitted Infections?

  • What is Contraception and how do we use it appropriately?

Lesson Outline

  • Intro: Recap week 3 - Reproduction

  • Begin lesson with a discussion about safe sex Practices

  • What does this mean to the students? (STI and Contraception)

  • Contraception - Brainstorm 

  • What do they do? What are they? What do you know?

  • Ask students ot complete Contraception Kahoot

  • STI: Introduction

  • Complete Sex and STI quiz

  • Watch Video on STI info

  • Ask students to work through their booklet, completing the STI Table and Contraception questions.

  • Complete practical, giving examples of each method of contraception with a contraception kit. 

  • Complete a reflective discussion with students bringing them back to the learning outcomes.
